How It Started
Smallpdf started out as a small idea. Our founders, who were abroad at the time, needed a way for their families to compress and send them scans of their mail. And so Compress PDF was born!
How It’s Going
Smallpdf was founded in 2013 as a single tool to help people compress their PDFs and now we offer a suite of over 20 PDF tools, the Smallpdf Mobile App, the Smallpdf Desktop App, and several integrations with some of the most popular software programs around.
Our tools help users from all over the world tackle a range of PDF challenges in an easy-to-use, affordable, and productive way by making PDF easy.
1 Billion Users
We are so proud to serve over 40 million users every month, process over 25 million documents every week, and to have our tools available in 24 languages. And to top it off, we’ve reached the billion users landmark since our founding in time for our 8th birthday!
How Did We Do It?
It’s no easy feat serving over 40 million users a month, but the Smallpdf team is agile and resilient. Our amazing team of around 90 has accomplished what usually takes companies of 500+ employees. We’re focused on users first and are committed to focus and Swiss-quality engineering.
What Does the Future Hold?
Smallpdf has its sights set on expanding its platforms—bringing more amazing products and tools to our users—and growing our market share.
Smallpdf is actively on the lookout for amazing talent to grow our teams in Zurich and Belgrade to help us tackle these new challenges. The company has recently adopted a hybrid working model to suit everyone and offers other great benefits to keep employees fulfilled and happy.
