If your printer is a little bit older and hasn’t been working properly recently, a printer test page can help identify and address problem areas. It’s better to fix your loyal old printer if there’s still a chance instead of investing in a new one prematurely.

How To Perform a Printer Test With PDFs
Choose one of the printer test PDFs above.
On the next tab, add more text or colors (optional).
Click on the three lines on the left and choose “Print.”
Alternatively, hit Ctrl+P (Windows) or Cmd+P (Mac).
Print your test document and see if it looks right.
Should I Choose the Color or B&W Printer Test Page?
That depends. If your printer is new and you want to see if everything works just right, try the color version. It’ll test the color quality, black-and-white text, and background results.
If your printer has been acting up lately, however, you may be able to address the problem more specifically. For example, if you had problems with text being printed blurry or stripey, it’s most likely enough to print the black and white printer test page. If colors in image prints were blotted or spotty, you’d want to test if your attempts at fixing the problem were successful with the color printer test page.
Either way, make sure to keep your printhead clean and consult the device’s manual often; you’ll find handy tips for fixing issues yourself.
