Smallpdf actually utilizes the same processing power as Microsoft itself, when converting to PDF file format, from a PowerPoint file. With this, all links and anchor text should work, as it did when having the PPT opened. But what is even better is that the file content will now be protected from unintentional editing.

But how do I insert a hyperlink in the first place?

The process is simple. You can either enter the full URL into a slide, which gets messy. The alternative is to insert a hyperlink to an anchor text, i.e., ‘click here’. To do this, follow the instructions below:

  1. Highlight the targetted anchor text in your PPT.

  2. Right-click and choose ‘Hyperlinks…’

  3. On the dialog box, type in (or copy and paste) the URL into the address field.

  4. Hit OK, and you’re good to go.

Your anchor text should now be underlined and colored. If you right-click on this text area again and hover over the ‘Hyperlink’ option, you will be presented with two options to either Open or Edit the link.
